Overview

Wanaka is the perfect ski destination for school groups due to it’s great terrain and breathtaking views. YHA Wanaka is located in the centre of town with views of Wanaka Lake and walking access to shops, restaurants and cafes. The tour is designed for students and teachers to spend as much time at Cardrona ski field with a rest day to explore Wanaka town.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Wanaka

Land in Queenstown and board your coach for the 1hr drive through breathtaking scenery to Wanaka. Check into your accommodation for the week at the YHA to relax after a long day of travelling. It's an early night before your first day of skiing tomorrow.

2-6

Days 2-6: Hit the Slopes

8.00am - 3.00pm

It's an early start with a delicious cooked breakfast. Then time to grab your gear and board the coach for the 20min drive up to Cardrona. Enjoy the spectacular mountain views on the way! You'll meet your instructors and split into ability groups of approximately eight. After the morning lesson you will have free time to explore the mountain on your own. The coach will depart Cardrona at 3pm and head back to Wanaka for the evening.

Day 7: Final Day

It's another early start for your final day in Wanaka before your journey home. A delicious cooked breakfast is served then it's time to return your gear, check out of your rooms and board the coach. Head back to Queenstown airport for your afternoon flight. What a great way to finish your New Zealand snow trip!

- What are New Zealand's Passport and Visa requirements?

All students and teachers must have a valid passport and we recommend having at least six months validity. Travelers with a Non-Australian passport must apply for a ETA Visa

- How long is the duration of the lessons?

1.5-2 Hours

- Can we bring our own ski or snowboard equipment on the flight?

Yes, personal equipment can be brought on flights. Subject to size and weight, extra fees may apply
