Overview

Nestled into the mountain side, overlooking stunning Queenstown and surrounded by towering pines, Pinewood Lodge is a wonderful village of homes big and small. Ideal for school group ski package accommodation, it is walking distance to central Queenstown. Accommodation can be offered in self contained cottages, dorm rooms and bunk houses. Breakfast is served daily in the common dining room, and dinner is also available.

The centre of Queenstown is a short walk away. Enhance your experiences with add ons such as the Skyline Gondola, luge rides and Jetboating. We can offer several dining options in Queenstown to mix it up as well.

Queenstown International Airport is a 15-minute drive away. It is a 20-minute drive to Coronet Peak and 30 minutes’ drive to The Remarkables.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Queenstown

Land in Queenstown and board your bus for the short (15min) drive to Pinewood Lodge. Settle into your rooms then it is time to collect your ski hire. Dinner tonight is at Pinewood Lodge and then it is an early night before the first day of skiing tomorrow.

2-4

Days 2-5: Hit the Slopes

Its an early start with a delicious cooked breakfast then time to grab your ski gear and board the bus. Enjoy the scenery on the drive to the resort. You will be skiing at Coronet Peak or the Remarkables each day, depending on where your lessons are booked. Depart the slopes approximately 4pm to return to Queenstown to relax and recover. In the evenings, dinner can be at Pinewood Lodge, or one of the many options in Queenstown.

Day 6: Last Day

Check out of your accommodation in the morning. Depending on the time of your return flight, you may be able to fit in an activity such Jetboating. What a great way to finish your Queenstown school group snow trip!

    FAQs

    - Can students purchase insurance through Absolute Travel?

    Yes we can provide travel insurance for both domestic and international travel. In fact we can provide group discounts as well. Travel insurance is highly recommended

    - What should the students pack for the school snow trip?

    Warm clothes! Waterproof gloves, neck warmer, goggles, beanie, thick socks, scarf, thermals, waterproof pants, waterproof jacket, jumpers, waterproof shoes or sneakers. We can provide a packing list as well as our 'Snow Essentials Pack' which includes gloves, goggles, socks and neckwarmer.

    - How many teachers do we receive FOC?

    In our NZ and NSW resorts, 1 teacher is free per 10 students. In our VIC resorts, 1 teacher is free per 8 students. If you need extra teachers or adult helpers, let us know and we can factor them into the price or offer discounted 'extra adult' pricing.
